Maggy moggie Manx-y (originally uploaded by The Department on 28th June, 2006)
"Maggie-cat is home from hospital. Minus a tail.
Turns out that she had an injury week-before-last that irreparably damaged a blood vessel that supplied her tail. It went gangenous and had to come off last night to save the rest of her.
It looks bad now - all bald and lumpy - but when the fur grows back the vet says she'll look like a polar bear. A small, spotty, stripey, whiskery polar bear" - The Department.

For the first highlighted photo I had to choose my own furball of doom, Charlie (firstly because he is my gorgeous moggy and therefore I am biased, and secondly because the FlickrCats group has only just begun!).
